Just as the mapmakers saw the uncharted territories as opportunities for discovery and adventure, so too can we see the unknown as a chance to grow and learn.
It is tempting to try and plan every step of our journey, to have a clear map of where we’re going and how we will get there. But the truth is, life rarely goes according to plan. Peter Enns called this the uh-oh moments that threaten familiar patterns of believing and thinking.
And that’s where the unexpected joy of not knowing comes in.
